Four Separate Weekend Shootings Leave Three Dead Including a 3-year-old Child

Baton Rouge Police are investigating 4 separate shooting incidents over the weekend that left a 3-year-old child and 2 others dead, along with 3 others injured by gunfire.

The first shooting took place early Friday when someone found a body at Tiger Plaza Apartments in Tiger Land. The victim, Pauliqua Evans, 22, died after suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The second shooting, which took the life of a 3-year-old child, occurred on S. Flannery Rd. just south of Florida Blvd. That incident happened at around 9:00 pm. According to investigators, someone in a car shot at another car traveling in the opposite direction on Flannery. The victim was identified as Ibrie Combs.

Another shooting took place Sunday around 10:00 am and claimed the life of Jason Johnson, 44 of Baton Rouge. Johnson was shot and killed in the 1900 block of Choctaw Drive. He was one of 3 victims struck by gunfire in that incident. Two other victims were transported to an area hospital where they were listed in stable condition as of Sunday evening.

Police responded to a 4th shooting incident this morning at approximately 2:30 AM on N. 47th street. In that incident, a 14-year-old girl was struck by gunfire while sleeping in her home. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a spokesman from the BRPD.

Investigators say they do not have any motives nor suspects in any of the 4 separate incidents.
